Artistic Alchemy Blog

Dr. Natasha Charles McQueen

This space grew from a simple intention: to create a place where ideas, creativity, and mental wellness could meet. It’s still taking shape, but it’s built with care, openness, and the hope that it helps others feel seen.  At its core, this space is an act of mental health advocacy, amplifying voices and challenging stigma through creativity, connection, and community.

What We Do

Welcome to the online home of Dr. Natasha Charles McQueen, a creative and reflective space dedicated to mental wellness, artistic expression, and personal growth. At the heart of the site is Artistic Alchemy of Self Improvement Sagas, a vibrant showcase of Dr. Charles McQueen’s and others' creative work, alongside powerful contributions from her wider community.

You’ll also find the Self-Improvement Saga, a growing collection of blog posts, poetry, and reflections designed to inspire meaningful change and emotional resilience. Within it, the Dead Mic Society offers guided breathing videos, meditations, and spoken-word pieces blending mindfulness with creative insight to support mental well-being.

Dr. Natasha Charles McQueen

Natasha Charles McQueen, Ph.D.

Dr. Natasha Charles McQueen, originally from the vibrant island of Grenada, is a licensed mental health provider and administrator committed to making mental health care more accessible, inclusive, and creative. With a unique blend of clinical expertise and artistic expression, she approaches mental wellness through a lens that honors both science and soul.

Her work is deeply rooted in mental health advocacy—amplifying underrepresented voices, dismantling stigma, and creating spaces where people can feel seen, supported, and empowered. Whether in the therapy room, the community, or through her creative ventures, Natasha is driven by the belief that healing should be holistic and humane.

Outside her professional role, Natasha is a multidisciplinary artist whose writing, poetry, photography, and virtual art explore the emotional depths of personal and collective experience. For her, creativity isn’t a hobby—it’s a vital part of how she processes, connects, and contributes.

Dr. Charles McQueen founded Calabash Family, a growing platform that integrates mental health, creativity, and community care. Within it, initiatives like Artistic Alchemy and the Self-Improvement Saga offer original writing, poetry, multimedia projects, and mental health reflections. These spaces transform artistic expression into tangible tools for healing, advocacy, and growth.

This website brings that mission to life—inviting visitors to engage with mental health in a way that is personal, reflective, and real. Still evolving, this space is built with care and openness, and guided by the hope that it helps others feel seen.
